CodeCombat Competition

HK-MO-TW Grand Final

General

Contestants will be allowed to code in Python, JavaScript, C++, Lua, or CoffeeScript. Please note that contestants who plan to use C++ should inform the Competition Secretariat beforehand so that adjustments to their licenses could be made.

Rules and Regulations

  • HK-MO-TW ICE Challenge Grand Final (Mid-May)

HK-MO-TW ICE Challenge Grand Final (Mid-May)

  • The Grand Final will be held physically for contestants from Hong Kong and Macau, along with a live-stream with contestants in Taiwan.
  • Contestants will be given 2.5-3 hours of independent coding time. 
  • The level of difficulty of the Grand Final is close to CodeCombat Computer Science 4. 
  • Contestants should use the username and password provided by the Competition Secretariat on the day to access the Grand Final competition coding arena.
  • Winners of the Grand Final competition will be determined by the result of the live simulation and announced in the Award Ceremony once the scores have been calculated. Please refer to “Awards and Prizes” for details.
  • Top players are eligible to join the Asian Games in June and the CodeQuest Global Final Competition in August.

Disqualification / Penalty

A contestant may be disqualified from the competition or suffer a penalty if the contestant:
  • is found suspicious of copying other contestants’ work
  • improperly obtains or attempts to obtain knowledge of the competition coding arena prior to the competition
  • tampers with the competition arena, other contestants’ work, system network and/or other systems
Serious offenders may be banned from all future ICE Challenge-related activities.
